Send To mail target

A .mapimail file is a Send To target of File Explorer on Windows. The known file is Mail recipient.MAPIMail in the SendTo directory. It makes the menu entry that attaches the selected files to a new e-mail through MAPI, the mail interface of Windows. The default mail program opens with the attachments. The file itself is empty.

A file extension is only a part of the file name. It does not give a guarantee about the format or the content of a file. But on Windows, the extension selects the program that opens the file.
